During his tenure at SCO, Dr. Rafieetary received
several awards including Teacher of the Year in 1989 and 1992, and
the Beta Sigma Kappa Outstanding Optometric Educator Award 1991-92.
Dr. Rafieetary has served two terms as the Past President of West
Tennessee Optometric Society; he is currently serving a two term
office as the President of the West Tennessee Chapter of the
Leadership Council of the American Diabetic Association. He
additionally serves on the Board of Directors of the Church Health
Center.
Dr. Rafieetary is a fellow of the American Academy of
Optometry and is Board Certified in Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas.
He is the author of several professional articles and lectures nationally. He
has received the American Optometric Association Recognition Award (ORA) in 1998
and 1999; he has also received the Tennessee Optometric Association's
Optometrist of the Year for 2002, and the American Diabetes Association's
National ADA Award Achievement of Distinction in 2004. |
